REALTOR® Caucus Sets 2014 Legislative Policy Priorities

On Friday, September 13, Arizona’s most politically active REALTOR® members will meet at the Scottsdale Chaparral Suites for the REALTOR® Caucus. This annual event allows REALTORS® to provide AAR with input on current issues affecting the real estate industry, as well as the opportunity to make recommendations for possible legislative or regulatory actions in the coming legislative session.

From across 15 counties, residing in many of Arizona’s 90 towns and cities, REALTOR® delegates appointed to represent Arizona’s 21 local boards and associations take time away from their busy schedules for a town hall style meeting to review, discuss and debate the current issues impacting real estate industry issues and practices.

Recommendations from these discussions will be forwarded to AAR’s Legislative & Political Affairs Committee and then to the AAR Board of Directors for approval. The REALTOR® Caucus is a long-held tradition and kicks off the coming year for the State of Arizona public policy. The legislature begins its regular session each year on the second Monday of January.

Registration is free, but space is limited.

You #AskScott, He Answers

Recently, AAR introduced our #AskScott video series featuring General Counsel Scott Drucker. We received many questions and plan to get to all of them soon. If you submitted your question, you haven’t been forgotten.

In this video, Scott answers two questions:

  1. What happens to a solar lease upon the purchase of a residential property? (00:42)
  2. What rights do tenants have when a residential property is sold? (02:20)

Thank you to Kim, Darla and Kelly for your questions. Keep sending them in and we’ll try to get to them soon!

The Prescott Area Association of REALTORS® (PAAR) has done an amazing job or coordinating and collecting contributions to the Prescott Firefighters Charity, as well as coordinating efforts to assist families who lost their homes and/or belongings to the fire. PAAR President Ed Pattermann wrote in one of his updates: “I have heard some truly moving stories this week re: how our REALTOR® community has taken part in the relief efforts for the families of the 19 fallen heroes and the people of Yarnell. From a volunteer Deputy doing a night watch over the burned-out area where the 19 men lost their lives; to those collecting donations, offering their homes, their clothing, their food, time, energy and money for the relief of the victims.”

We are very proud of our Arizona REALTORS® and the generous outpouring of contributions including time, money and supplies. Thank you very much!

If you are interested in making an additional donation, AAR will be collecting checks made out to “AAR-ARDAF”. In the memo, please include “Yarnell Fire Assistance.” Checks can be mailed to AAR offices at:
