Disability Pride Month 2025
July is Disability Pride Month, which commemorates the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), signed into law on July 26, 1990. This month is intended to recognize the history of disability rights and celebrate the achievements, contributions, and resilience of people within the disability community.
Disability is more common and diverse than many people realize. A disability can be related to physical, sensory, cognitive, mental health, or chronic health conditions; and may be visible or non-visible, temporary or permanent.
According to the CDC, more than 61 million adults in the U.S. has some type of disability. This month, we encourage everyone to learn about friends, family and members in your community who may have a disability, because disabilities are a part of every community.
Watch this community make a difference for their 2-year-old neighbor.
Challenge stigmas by countering negative stereotypes and misconceptions.
