SCAMMERS ARE CLAIMING TO REPRESENT U.S. DISTRICT COURT / MARICOPA COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

Recently, the Arizona REALTORS® was notified of two separate incidents wherein callers contacted REALTORS® purporting to represent a court.  The scammers claimed that they were calling each REALTOR® regarding a subpoena and missed court appearance. The callers further advised the targeted REALTOR® that an arrest warrant was issued due to the missed court date and that the REALTOR® is subject to arrest unless payment/bond is made.  In establishing rapport with the targeted REALTOR®, the scammer provides an address to a property that the REALTOR® assisted a client with and states that the lawsuit involved an incident at that property.

The U.S. Marshall’s service will NEVER notify parties by phone of arrest warrants or ask for any form of payment to clear a matter.  If you are contacted by someone who states they are a Federal Marshall or other law enforcement authority that asks for payment, please report the incident to the local police department or U.S. Marshall Service.  Chris Gonzales is the U.S. Marshall working these cases and can be contacted at (602) 382-8768.
