How to Get Involved

There are a variety of ways to get involved. You may want to do each of these items - or pick and choose the ones that best fit your goals.

 

  1. OPEN HOUSE. Consider which listing(s) you wish to promote with an open house the weekend of April 10-11, 2010.

  2. BALLOONS. Consumers will be encouraged to look for the blue balloons signaling homes participating in the nationwide open house. AAR is providing a large quantity of balloons to each local REALTOR® association in the state. Contact your local association to find out where you can collect your balloons/helium. (Agents should check with city and neighborhood ordinances before using balloons.)

  3. SIGN RIDERS. Local associations may choose to sell "Ask About Tax Credit" sign riders through their in-house stores. AAR will provide a list of associations who are selling the riders, when available.

  4. FLYERS. Learn more about the tax credit: Then help educate your clients with these useful flyers:

  6. PRESS. AAR will be reaching out to state and local media, but you may want to work your press contacts as well. A sample, customizable press release is coming soon!

  7. ADDITIONAL RESOURCES. Get yourself prepared to answer questions about the tax credit, talk with first-time homebuyers and make the most of your open house time with these useful references.
