Owners of houses and mobile homes with
plumbing leaks may be able to get defective plumbing replaced for free.
A national class action suit has been settled, providing relief for
qualifying leaks in polybutylene pipe (PB). PB pipe is a non-rigid,
usually gray plastic pipe used in water supply plumbing systems; it is
not used for drains, waste, or vent piping. PB is not PVC or CPVC, which
is a rigid white or offwhite plastic pipe. The home must have been
purchased after August 21, 1995, and PB plumbing must have been
installed between January 1, 1978, and July 31, 1995. For complete
details, visit
www.pbpipe.com or call
The Consumer Plumbing Recovery Center at
800/392-7591. For more information about polybutylene pipe, click on the links below: Plumbing Express: Buying a Home With Poly? |
